Privacy Policy
GAP Companion is in a closed alpha. Payments during the alpha run in test mode: no real money is charged.
GAP Companion is a phone app (app.gapapp.companion) and its server
(cloud.gapapp.app). It lets you watch and control the GAP automation app on
Android devices you link to your account. This page explains what it stores, why, and how to
have it deleted. Questions: gap.app.team@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your account
- When you sign in with Google: your Google account id and email address. Nothing else from your Google profile. We also note the country you signed up from, taken from your network connection, to store your data in a nearby region and to refuse regions we can't serve.
- Devices you link
- Each device's name, model, Android version and GAP version, and when it connected and disconnected.
- What your devices report
- The status of the script running on each device, its recent events, running totals (for example rounds and results), the list of scripts it has, and the commands you send it with their results.
- What you save
- The workflows and presets you create in the app.
- Notifications
- Your phone's push notification token and which kinds of notification you turned on.
- Payments
- Stripe handles every payment. We keep only the Stripe customer and subscription references, your plan and when it ends. We never see or store your card details.
What we don't collect
- No screenshots or screen contents of your devices.
- No contacts, photos, files or precise location.
- No advertising, no analytics trackers, and we never sell your data.
How we use it
Only to run GAP Companion: signing you in, showing and controlling your devices, syncing your workflows and presets, sending the notifications you asked for, and knowing which plan you have. We may email you about your account or the alpha.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare runs our servers and stores the data above. Its request logs, which include IP addresses, are kept for a few days.
- Google provides sign-in, and push notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Stripe processes payments under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. Recent events are trimmed automatically to the newest ones. A device you unlink stays in your account's command history, without its live data.
Deleting your data
Email gap.app.team@gmail.com from the address you sign in with and ask us to delete your account. We delete the account and everything listed above within 30 days. Stripe keeps its payment records as the law requires. Signing out of the app does not delete anything; unlinking a device stops it reporting.
Children
GAP Companion is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date, and tell alpha testers by email when the change matters.
